Their story

Founded over 50 years ago in southeastern France, the family owned and run Petzl has been built around four pillars: remaining a stable family business, encouraging innovation to imagine the best solutions, insisting on industrial excellence with the goal of zero defects, and remaining engaged with communities by providing global best practices.

Producing technical gear for sport climbing and the professional stunt and rope access space, Petzl have a deep responsibility to the people who trust them with their lives and their objective has always been to make progressing in dark or vertical spaces safer and more comfortable.

Sustainability

Preserving ecosystems that are difficult to access remains a strong commitment for Petzl. The Petzl Foundation supports a multitude of non-profit organisations whose role is to discover and protect biodiversity on cliffs, in caves and in mountain ranges.
